When considering the applicants there are many items that are taken into consideration.  We of course take into consideration the GPA and activities that students are involved in but we are looking for something more.  We want to see a desire to help others or be charitable.  We look for an individual who displays civility in all of his or her actions.  Ultimately we look for someone who exemplifies the tenants and virtues of Masonry.  We have often found these displayed in children and grandchildren of our existing members.  In fact, almost every winner of the Watseka Masonic Scholarship has had a relative tied to Masonry.
